Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-08-07
These terms govern your use of mailyourmp.com.au and the Mail Your MP service operated by BEFORECHICKEN PROPRIETARY LIMITED (ABN 36 701 108 376), trading as Mail Your MP. By using the service you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Mail Your MP is operated by BEFORECHICKEN PROPRIETARY LIMITED (ABN 36 701 108 376). Postal correspondence: Belgium Gardens QLD 4810, Australia. Contact: hello@mailyourmp.com.au.
The service
Mail Your MP helps Australians send physical letters to elected representatives on issues they care about. You provide your details and message; we route the letter to the appropriate politician, print it, and post it via our fulfilment partners. Campaign statistics on the site reflect real records in our database. Paying to send a letter through Mail Your MP is payment for a fulfilment service (printing and posting), not a donation to a political party or candidate, and not an electoral advertisement — see how it works.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or have a parent or guardian's consent) and able to enter a binding agreement. You must provide accurate information, including your real name — your name appears on the letter you send. One person may join each campaign once per politician target.
We ask you to confirm your age eligibility with a checkbox at checkout. We record the date, time, and version of these terms you accepted against your participation record.
Your content
You are responsible for the text you submit, including personal notes and edits.
- Do not include threats, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content
- Do not impersonate another person
- Do not submit false addresses or fraudulent payment details
We may refuse, hold, edit, or cancel a letter that violates these rules or that we reasonably believe would expose us or our partners to legal risk. We can only do this before a letter has been sent to print — once printing or posting has started, the physical mail is already committed and cannot be recalled. If we cancel a letter, we will tell you why and how the refund policy applies.
By submitting letter text, you grant Mail Your MP a licence to reproduce, print, and transmit that text to the extent needed to deliver the service (including to our print and mail partners). You keep ownership of what you write.
Payments
Prices are shown before checkout in Australian dollars (AUD), inclusive of GST where applicable. Payment is processed by Stripe. By paying, you authorise us to charge the displayed amount for printing and posting your letter (and any sponsor slots you select).
See our Refund policy for when you can get money back.
Fulfilment
We aim to print and post letters promptly after payment. Delivery times depend on Australia Post and are outside our control. We are not responsible for politicians' responses — or lack thereof — to your letter.
Acceptable use and account integrity
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, and refuse future letters from you, if you abuse the platform — for example by submitting fraudulent payment details, repeatedly violating the content rules above, or attempting to circumvent the one person / one politician / one campaign limit. We'll try to tell you why, unless doing so would itself create a safety or legal risk.
Disclaimer
Mail Your MP is civic infrastructure, not legal or political advice. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from sending a letter. Campaign organisers andMail Your MP may hold views on issues; the platform exists to facilitate constituent mail, not to endorse every message sent through it.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant letter(s). Nothing in these terms excludes guarantees that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree to indemnify Mail Your MP and BEFORECHICKEN PROPRIETARY LIMITED against claims, losses, or costs arising from content you submit that breaches these terms or the law (for example, defamatory, threatening, or unlawful letter content) or from information you provide that is false or misleading.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end your access as described above. Terms that by their nature should survive (including content licences, liability limits, and indemnities) continue to apply after termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. This does not remove any consumer protections you have under Australian Consumer Law regardless of where you live in Australia.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” version, and we record which version you accepted at checkout. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
